3 Days Guoliang Village Trip
If the name Wanxian Shan (Mountain of Ten Thousand Immortal)and Guoliang Village sounds unfamiliar to you, then that’s precisely our goal - to discover a hidden gem that’s virtually unheard of!
Located deep in the Tai Heng Mountains in Northern Henan province is a cliff-side village named Guoliang that had been hidden from the outside world for many centuries due to its remote location in the mountains. In the past, the only path that connected the village to the outside was through this vertical set of stairs carved into the mountain which the villagers referred to as the “Sky Ladder”. In 1972, 13 young man from the village had started to dig a tunnel with the basic tools that was available on hand, and had spent 5 years to finish a 1.25 KM tunnel along the wall of the cliff. Today, this tunnel had been widened, and is the only road that cars can go on to reach the village, and it’s one of the most impressive sights within the mountains. The Taiheng Mountain range has limitless opportunities for hiking and trek adventure. We’ll spend 3 days hiking and exploring the charming villages, caves, and waterfalls within the Taiheng Canyons. On the last day, we’ll have a real adventure by taking the secrete trails only known by the locals on a 6 hour trek before heading off to the airport.

Detailed Itinerary

08:10 - 09:55 - Take flight to Zhengzhou via MU5395 from Hongqiao T2. Transfer to Wan Xian Shan (+/- 2hr 30 min) and have lunch.In the afternoon visit Guoliang Village, hike within the park (+/- 3 hours). Overnight at a local guest house.

Morning departure for Nanping Scenic area, hike around the Nanping scenic area (+/- 4 hours), return to Guoliang for overnight.

Watch sunrise in Guoliang. Start hiking from Huitao Village to Luojie Zhai. This path is only known to the locals. It is likely that you will not encounter a single person until you arrive at Luojie Village. Expect the trek to be about 6 - 7 hours over beautiful stunning mountain landscape.
Transfer back to Zhengzhou for the evening flight back to Shanghai (+/- 2 hr).
Arrive the Zhengzhou airport by 19:45, check in.
19:40 - 21:10 Zhengzhou to Pudong T2 via CZ3947/MU4788.
Program ends.
