Zhangjiajie is located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province. The name in Chinese means Family Zhang's homeland. It's said a Han general, Zhang Liang, resettled in the area after a suspicious Liu Bang, the Han emperor, started to persecute Zhang's staffs and generals who had contributed to Liu Bang's becoming emperor. It was so named to signify that the Zhang family had set up home there.
In this trip you will follow our guide to visit all the classic highlights in Zhangjiajie such as Tianzishan Mountain, Avatar Mountain, walking on the longest glass bridge, taking the longest cable car and highest outdoor elevator, and Fenghuang Ancient Town where many Miao and Tujia minorities inhabit.

08:35 - Take flight to Guiyang via flight FM9463 from Hongqiao airport
Make your way to airport for your flight to Zhangjiajie at night. (Please note that you will have to take taxi to check in your hotel on your own if you are arriving at day time)
Once land in Zhangjiajie airport in the evening, warmly welcomed and picked up by your guide, transfering to your hotel located in Wulingyuan town area.
Overnight at 5-star Pullman Hotel in Zhangjiajie or similar

Today you will head to one of the most famous attractions in the park – The Son of Heaven Mountain(Tianzishan). You will ascend the mountain by cable-car and on the top you will enjoy views of Warrior Taming Horse Rock and the Western Sea Peak Forest which are two of the most stunning mountain formations in the whole park and are really a pleasure to see.
After visit Tianzi Mountain you will continue to visit Yuanjiajie, which is the shooting place of the movie Avatar, from where you’ll stand the same level as the pillar mountains and you can see the No.1 Natural Bridge, Qiankun Pillar (Avatar mountain), Mihun Terrace. Later take Bailong elevator down to pay a visit to one of the most beautiful valleys in the world - the Golden Whip Stream. From here they appear to shoot up into the sky like giant natural skyscrapers. Adored by the Chinese, the peaks have been given a number of different poetic names. The water in the stream is clear, the air is pure and the site is very well maintained. Enjoy a relax hiking along the stream.

Transfer 40 minutes to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, which was a relatively new discovery outside Zhangjiajie National Park. Nowadays, it is very famous and popular because of the longest glass bridge (430m long and over 300m above the ground). Walk on the bridge is indeed a challenge of your courage. Then you can either take the exciting zipline & slide OR elevator & slide down to the bottom of the canyon, and hike along the canyon for 2 hours.
Later transfer to Baofeng lake, enjoy a peaceful cruise riding on Baofeng lake. You can appreciate the local minority singing mountain songs during the cruise riding.

Check out in the morning, transfer 4 hours to one of the most beautiful ancient towns in China (noted by New Zealand writer Rewi Alley)-Fenghuang (literally means Phoenix) Ancient Town with over 300 years old history. It is famous for the stilt wooden buildings (Diaojiaolou) over the river. You will enjoy a peaceful boat riding along the Tuojiang river, from where you can enjoy the Diaojiaolou with the best angle. In the evening, you can’t miss the night view of the town, finding a nice bar beside the river and having a drink with friends to relax.

Check out in the morning, transfer 4 hours to Tianmen mountain in Zhangjiajie city. As the highest mountain (1548.6m) in Zhangjiajie area, Tianmen mountain boatsts the longest cable car (7455m) in the world, which takes half an hour for one-way riding. On the cable car, you can have a bird view of the 99 curves on Tongtian road. Then enjoy the breathless glass skywalk along the cliff.
The 999 steps can directly reach to the amazing Tianmen cave. The natural mountain-penetrating karst cave and the highest elevation in the world hanging on the towering cliff give a big feast to your eyes especially in the winter when the whole mountain covered with snow.
After the visit of Tianmen mountain, you will be transfered to the airport according to your departure flight schedule (should be later than 8pm).
