Off-The-Beaten-Path Experience in Guizhou
Guizhou is located in Southwest of China, rich in natural cultural and environmental resources. Guizhou is also one of China's most diverse provinces with many minority groups. In this trip we will explore mainly at the Southeast Qian Autonomous Prefecture with Dong and Miao ethinics as main population. Though Guizhou is relativaly poor and economically underdeveloped privince the locals are doing their best to protect the environment and preserve the old tradition.
In this 5-day trip we will not only know about the different minor groups (there are many small families for Miao minority ethnic) and their life style, culture, cuisine, farming, architecture, language and also appreciate the beautiful natural environment. It’s the harvest season in end of Sep so you can have chance to experience the farming life when you hike along the rice terrace or at the local villages! You will get touched by their warm-hearted welcome ceremony as well!

Detailed Itinerary
D1 (D)
11:10 - Take flight to Guiyang via flight HO1209 from Hongqiao airport
13:40 - Arrive in Guiyang and meet our local guide at airport exit
14:30 - Drive to Kaili city to check in your hotel (+/- 2.5 hrs), visiting a local Miao ethinic village and learn how to use the traditional way to make paper en route!
Overnight at a local 4-star hotel

07:30 - 08:30 Breakfast
08:30 - Drive to Leigongshan National Forest Park (+/- 2 hrs), enjoying the beautiful rice terrace, waterfalls, ancient villages on the way.
After lunch, hike about 3 hrs to a local Miao ethnic village located inside the Leigongshan Natural Reserve Area. You will be amazed by the beautiful natural views, rich vegetation including few hundreds of 1000 plus years old cedar trees when hike through the natural park!

Check out after breakfast; Drive to Rongjiang county (+/- 3 hrs) , hike a little bit and visit a local Dong ethnic village and Miao ethnic village, getting to know about their culture and life style

07:30 - 08:30 Breakfast and then drive 1 hr to start your hike
10:00 - 12:00 Hike along the rice terrace to a local Miao ethnic village and then have lunch there
14:00 - Transfer to a Dong ethnic village (+/- 1 hrs), walk around the village and catch the fish at the rice paddy and learn how to roast the fish and chicken as picnic dinner (we can offer vegetarian friendly food as dinner if needed).
at night have a fun bonfire party with the Dong ethnic villagers!
