Off-The-Beaten-Path Experience in Guizhou
Guizhou is located in Southwest of China, rich in natural cultural and environmental resources. Guizhou is also one of China's most diverse provinces with many minority groups. In this trip we will explore mainly at the Southeast Qian Autonomous Prefecture with Dong and Miao ethinics as main population. Though Guizhou is relativaly poor and economically underdeveloped privince the locals are doing their best to protect the environment and preserve the old tradition.
In this 4-day trip we will not only know about the different Miao groups (there are many small families for Miao minority ethnic) and their life style, culture, cuisine, farming, architecture, language and also appreciate the beautiful natural environment. Called “Nong ga liang” in the Miao language, the Zimei Festival centers on young women who travel from village to village, singing and dancing dressed in their finest silver jewelry, and offering Zimei rice to boys as a token of their affection. You will get touched by their warm-hearted welcome ceremony as well!

Detailed Itinerary
D1 (D)
08:20 - Take flight to Guiyang via flight FM9463 from Hongqiao airport
11:30 - Arrive in Guiyang and meet our local guide at airport exit. Grab your lunch at airport
12:30 - Grab your lunch at airport and transfer 2 hrs to start your hike
15:00 - Hike past mountains featuring Karst landform (+/- 2 hrs) and reach to an old Buyi village. Walk around the village and hike uphill (about 30 mins) to check out a local Karst cave.
After dinner at the Buyi village drive about 45mins to check in your hotel.
Overnight at a local 4-star hotel

08:00 - Drive about 3 hrs to Kaili city, stopping en route to enjoy the beauty of Sky Bridge
11:00 - Take part in welcome celemony by the locals and have lunch at local ppl's house
13:00 - Drive one hr to another Miao village and take part in the Zimei Festival with locals in their best clothing and makeup, watching the traditional dancing and water buffalo fighting activities.
Try the long table banquet for dinner and drive back to hotel.

08:00 - Drive 2 hrs to start your hike to Leigongshan National Forest Park (+/- 2 hrs), enjoying the beautiful rice terrace, mountain views, ancient villages on the way.
After lunch, hike about 3 hrs to another Miao ethnic village. When hiking you will be amazed by the beautiful natural views, rich vegetation including few hundreds of 1000 plus years old cedar trees!
After dinner drive back (1.5hrs) to Kaili.

07:30 - 08:30 Breakfast and then drive one hour to a local Miao village to explore more about local daily life.
Learn how the locals make the batik - a Miao Intangible Cultural Heritage.
11:00 - 13:30 Drive to Guiyang airport and then find your lunch at the airport
16:30 - 19:10 Take flight from Guiyang back to Shanghai Hongqiao via FM9458
