Off-The-Beaten-Path Experience in Guizhou
Guizhou is located in Southwest of China, rich in natural cultural and environmental resources. Guizhou is also one of China's most diverse provinces with many minority groups. In this trip we will explore mainly at the Southeast Qian Autonomous Prefecture with Dong and Miao ethinics as main population. Though Guizhou is relativaly poor and economically underdeveloped privince the locals are doing their best to protect the environment and preserve the old tradition.
In this 5-day trip we will not only know about the different minor groups (there are many small families for Miao minority ethnic) and their life style, culture, cuisine, farming, architecture, language and also appreciate the beautiful natural environment. It’s also the festival season to celebrate the local festivals so you can have chance to feel the authentic festival ceremonies! You will get touched by their warm-hearted welcome ceremony as well!

Detailed Itinerary
D1 (D)
07:40 - Take flight to Guiyang via flight HO1207 from Hongqiao airport
10:55 - Arrive in Guiyang and meet our local guide at airport exit. Grab your lunch at airport
12:00 - Drive to Kaili city (+/- 2.5 hrs) to visit a local Miao ethinic village and learn how the locals make the batik - a Miao Intangible Cultural Heritage (you can experience it and use it as souvenir,optional activity)! Later drive about 40mins to visit another Miao tribe.
Overnight at a local 4-star hotel in Kaili
D2 (BLD)
08:00 - 09:00 Breakfast
09:00 - Drive 2.5 hrs to a Miao village and take part in the Taioyue (Moon Dance) Festival with locals in their best clothing and makeup, watching the traditional dancing and water buffalo fighting activities.
In the afternoon transfer to a local Dong ethnic village (2hrs driving).
At night have a fun bonfire party with the Dong ethnic villagers!
Overnight at a local 4-star guesthouse in the Dong ethnic village

Check out after breakfast; Drive 1hr and start to hike for 2.5 hrs to a local Miao village, enjoying the beautiful rice terrace and valley views.
In the afternoon drive to another Miao village (2.5hrs) to learn the old way to make papers (you can experience it and use it as souvenir,optional activity).
Overnight at a local 4-star hotel in Kaili

07:30 - 08:30 Breakfast and then drive 2hrs to a local Miao village to explore more about local daily life
After lunch hike about 2.5 hrs to get to a local Miao village, enjoying the beautiful rice terrace, mountains, ancient villages en route.
Drive back (1.5 hrs) to stay overnight at same hotel in Kaili

09:00 - 12:00 Drive (about 3hrs) to a local Miao village
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 15:30 Join the local Miao ppl for another traditional Tiaodong (Jumping out of the cave) Festival
16:00 - 17:30 Drive to Guiyang airport and then find your dinner at the airport
19:55 - 22:25 Take flight from Guiyang back to Shanghai Hongqiao via HO1142
