Walking and kayaking in Qingpu Suburb
This event is part of our traditionaI SOC Members Day Trip series where our members can socialize with old friends and making new friends, and everyone share the cost together in a relaxing vibe. This year the theme of the SOC Members Day is exploring Shanghai Outskirts. And this time we will go to Shanghai Qingpu Suburb.
As the westmost district in Shanghai Qingpu has very superior geographycal position with developed land and water transportion. Dianshan Lake, the largest freshwater in Shanghai is coming from Qingpu. With the rich water resources Qingpu is not only famous for beautiful views such as Zhujiaojiao Water Town, Jinze Water Town and Oriental Land etc, but good location for kayaking.
Unlike other famous water towns Jinze Water Town is less touristy but more famous by its bridges in different shapes over the crisscross waterways in different dynasties. There are over 10 bridges which have been well preserved with the longest history dating back to Song dynasty! In this trip we will walk through quiet villages in the morning while in the afternoon sit in our kayaks using our core strength paddling around a local village to explore more in this area!
